Introducing Tevana Garden: An Oasis In South Bali’s Luxury Hospitality Scene

Guests at AYANA Bali now have access to a six-hectare rejuvenating and culturally rich sanctuary that sets the bar for luxury in harmony with nature.

AYANA Bali, the island’s premier integrated resort, is setting the bar for luxury eco-tourism with the official opening of Tevana Garden on October 8, 2024. Embracing the true meaning of its namesake AYANA – meaning ‘place of refuge’ – the resort has dedicated over six hectares of land to create a garden oasis where resort guests can enjoy a delightfully sensory nature experience. Through its walking paths and stopping points, guests will have the opportunity to connect with nature in an unparalleled way for South Bali, all while appreciating the island’s rich biodiversity with over 80 species of tropical flora.

Derived from Sanskrit, “teva” signifies “divine” or “godly,” thus Tevana refers to a place of divine connection. This is felt on arrival at Tevana Garden, where visitors are greeted by a striking water feature at the entrance plaza. A narrow, winding pathway leads guests into a realm of natural wonder where sounds fade to chirping birds, a gentle breeze in the trees, and footsteps on the pebbled path beneath. This lush, green sanctuary invites visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, enhancing the serene tropical atmosphere of AYANA Bali to ensure a truly restorative vacation for every guest.

As they explore, visitors will discover the Viewpoint Tower, offering panoramic vistas of Jimbaran’s lush landscape and the vast ocean beyond. Families will delight in the charming treehouse playground, offering a magical space for children to play and explore. Subtly highlighting the area’s geological characteristics, a small natural cave adds to the garden’s natural charm. Another highlight includes the Tea Room, providing a peaceful haven for private events and experiences, such as coffee tasting or afternoon tea.

Tevana Garden also boasts a versatile 3,200 square meter outdoor event space for up to 1,000 guests, ideal for hosting unforgettable weddings, corporate events, or any large gathering seeking to embrace Bali’s tropical beauty.

Tevana Garden was designed by Kazuma Hasegawa, co-representative, landscape architect, and professor at Kyoto University of the Arts, together with Maiko Shiromizu, co-representative and landscape architect—both from SAHA Landscape Design Office, based in Osaka, Japan. Their design seamlessly blends Balinese charm with Japanese landscape techniques. While celebrating Bali’s natural beauty, the garden subtly integrates Japanese influences, as seen in its careful layout, precise measurements of pathways and structures, and meticulous gardening. The result is a harmonious fusion of simplicity and natural beauty, featuring terraced landscapes, gentle flowing streams, sparkling waterfalls, and local white limestone formations. Together, these elements create a tranquil and meditative environment, inviting visitors to experience the calming effects of its design principles.

“AYANA Bali is committed to hospitality which blends nature and luxury in perfect harmony,” says Giordano Faggioli, General Manager of AYANA Bali. “Whether you’re planning an unforgettable event, or looking for a serene escape, AYANA Bali, with the addition of Tevana Garden, offers an experience that is truly nature-centered, allowing guests to disconnect and rejuvenate during their holiday.”

Enhancing the cultural experience, Tevana Garden is conveniently located next to SAKA Museum, AYANA Bali’s cultural hub and learning precinct. By combining these experiences – along with other activities on the property, such as traditional dance at Kampoeng Bali, a jamu workshop at AYANA Farm or boreh treatment at AYANA Spa – AYANA Bali guests can enjoy a rich Balinese cultural immersion. This unique combination allows guests to seamlessly blend their appreciation for art and culture with the restorative power of nature.

Tevana Garden is a captivating new addition to AYANA Bali’s world-class offerings. Experience its magic by booking a stay at one of AYANA Bali’s four hotels – AYANA Resort, AYANA Villas, AYANA Segara or RIMBA by AYANA – and enjoy access to the island’s largest variety of luxury facilities in one property.
