International Women’s Day: Wow Presents A Wine Dinner And A World Music Concert

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, WOW highlights its in-house talent and invites two female winemakers for a special Wine Dinner at Restaurant 1828. To complete the programme, Angel’s Share will host a concert by Juliata Cohen, making her debut performance in Porto.

Priscila Haddad, Head Sommelier at WOW, invites Patrícia Berardi from Textura Wines in Dão and Arcelina Santiago from Quinta de Santiago in the Vinho Verde region. The three will lead the wine pairing for a special Wine Dinner at Restaurant 1828, with a menu crafted by Chef Silvina Coelho.

The menu begins with artisanal bread, olive tapenade, smoked butter, and Taylor’s Chef Edition olive oil.

As a starter, guests will be served matured meat croquettes with mango and citrus chutney, accompanied by a 2015 Silica Super Reserva Blanc de Noir.

For the main course, diners will enjoy tuna tataki with miso mayonnaise, sesame seeds, fish & yuzu jus, and coriander sprouts. This dish is perfectly paired with a 2022 Quinta de Santiago Reserva Alvarinho.

Following this, a filet mignon cooked in a Josper oven will be served, accompanied by truffled mashed potatoes, pak choi, confit cherry tomatoes, and Port wine jus. To complement this dish, a 2018 Constructo Tinto is the recommended pairing.

For dessert, the selection is a raspberry pavlova with mint and meringue, best enjoyed with a 2019 Taylor’s Late Bottled Vintage Port.

Juliata Cohen Live in Porto for the First Time

After dinner, the WOW experience continues at Angel’s Share, located on the same floor as Restaurant 1828 and sharing the same stunning view over Porto. From 10:30 PM, artist Juliata Cohen will take the stage for her very first performance in the city. Juliata has just released her debut album (22:22) and is bringing it to Portugal for the first time.

Juliata Cohen is a French artist, born to a Moroccan mother and a Tunisian father. She has lived in Israel, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Cape Verde. With a soulful, languid voice, she composes and sings in the languages of these places, often blending them within the same song. Known for her powerful stage presence, Juliata Cohen promises to create an intimate journey into the heart of her roots at Angel’s Share, embodying soul, longing, ritual, and ancestry.
