Frasers Hospitality, a global leader in serviced apartments, hotel residences and boutique hotels, has recently celebrated the newest addition to its repertoire of heritage buildings with the opening of Fraser Residence River Promenade, Singapore. Through its collection of six heritage landmarks, the global hospitality brand takes the lead in infusing historical charm with contemporary lifestyles for modern travellers. Beyond hospitality excellence and memorable guest experiences, Frasers Hospitality is committed to safeguarding the tapestry of architecture and diverse cultures in the world’s most fabled destinations.
“The preservation of cultural heritage is not just a duty but a deep passion shared by all of us at Frasers Hospitality. Being custodians of historical landmarks, we take pride in amplifying the unique stories, culture and local way of life to differentiate the Fraser experience,” said Ms. Eu Chin Fen, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality. “Our commitment goes beyond the brick and mortar- we believe that the celebration of history gives back to the local community and enriches each traveler’s experience.”
Frasers Hospitality’s collection of heritage landmarks are located in the world’s gateway cities, such as Fraser Suites Hamburg and Capri by Fraser Berlin in Germany, Fraser Suites Edinburgh and Fraser Suites Glasgow in the United Kingdom, Fraser Suites Le Claridge Champs-Élysées in France, as well as the recently opened Fraser Residence River Promenade in Singapore.
Opened on 18 September 2023, Fraser Residence River Promenade sits on the idyllic bank of the famed Singapore River in a wharf called Robertson Quay. Steeped in historical reference as the rise of Singapore’s global dominance as a trading port, the riverside estate comprises three surviving warehouses built in 1919 that were later gazetted for conservation in 2014. The restored warehouses-turned-serviced residences now offer long-stay accommodation, inviting guests to admire the sensitive preservation of its original façade in the comfort of modern luxury. Sustainability is woven subtly into its design narrative, from 72 meticulously crafted apartments to thoughtfully designed architectural features that promote natural ventilation and lighting. Each aspect has been carefully planned to minimise energy consumption, reduce water usage and reduce the property’s carbon footprint. These efforts have earned Fraser Residence River Promenade a Gold Plus rating in Singapore’s Green Mark Certification Scheme.
An iconic landmark, the heritage-listed Fraser Suites Hamburg is nestled in the city centre and mere steps from the UNESCO World Heritage Speicherstadt warehouse district. Designed in 1910 by architect Albert Erbe and once home to the Hamburg tax authorities, the building’s heritage-protected interiors were reimagined to manifest its centennial growth. Original art nouveau features have been retained and refined, such as the 100-year-old art deco floor tiles and tax office doors which have been restored to complement modern colour schemes. From its award-winning interior design to unique dining experiences, Fraser Suites Hamburg’s commitment to heritage preservation is reflected in every detail to showcase the essence of its destination. Guests may choose to immerse themselves in the building’s storied past over contemporary cocktails mixed at the 1920-esque O.V.A.L bar.
Standing as a modern urban sanctuary in the heart of history on Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Capri by Fraser Berlin is Frasers Hospitality’s second German property. Nestled between the bustling Potsdamer Platz and iconic Alexanderplatz, the 143-unit hotel residence perfectly captures Berlin’s unique blend of old-world charm and modern dynamism. What sets it apart is the preservation of an archaeological excavation site under the lobby level, discovered by chance during the property’s construction. The site is now cleverly showcased through a glass floor for guests to engage with this historical landmark.
Housed in a beautifully conserved 130-year-old building that epitomises the rich heritage of Edinburgh, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fraser Suites Edinburgh’s sandstone Victorian facade is a notable landmark in the Old Town district. A certified Silver Green Tourism property, powered by 100% renewable energy, each of its 75 elegant suites offers exclusivity and the comforts of home with a fully equipped gym and kitchenette facilities. In partnership with Edinburgh World Heritage, a book was published to bring guests on a journey of discovery about the building’s medieval foundations and architectural highlights, such as a set of stained glass panels restored to its former glory.
Strategically located in the former Merchant City, Fraser Suites Glasgow is set in a beautifully renovated 1850s Victorian building, of which the façade was designed by celebrated architect, JT Rochead, the man behind world-renowned Wallace Monument. Sitting within the city’s cultural quarter abound with museums, art galleries and bustling nightlife, Fraser Suites Glasgow features 98 modern and comfortable residences whereby several rooms are named after illustrious personalities to commemorate the property’s rich history and celebrate their roles in forging the city’s heritage. Fraser Suites Glasgow is a certified Silver Green Tourism property, powered by 100% renewable energy.
Nestled along the iconic Champs-Élysées in the heart of central Paris, Fraser Suites Le Claridge Champs-Élysées stands as an exquisite collection of 135 luxury serviced apartments. The Belle Époque façade of the meticulously preserved 1900s building was expertly restored, preserving its architectural significance, designed by Henri Tauzin, the same architect behind the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. Initially known as Hôtel de l’Arcade, the property has welcomed an array of illustrious guests over the years, including Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles. The storied halls of Le Claridge have also borne witness to historic events, such as the signing of the Franco-British Treaty in 1915, the jubilant celebration of the Liberation of Paris in 1944 and the production of the iconic movie Funny Face in 1957.
