La Petite Maison re-opens on September 5th after summer makeover inspired by French Riviera

Bonhomie of la Belle Époque returns to beloved French rendezvous at H Queen’s, Central

French Riviera-inspired La Petite Maison (LPM) is re-opening in early September with a refreshing new look and menu following a summer makeover at H Queen’s, Central.

The revamp by London interior design studio Sagrada aligns the style of the Hong Kong branch with the international brand’s worldwide DNA – from London, Las Vegas and Miami to Mykonos, Dubai and Doha.

Reinforcing the glamorous ambience of the Côte d’Azur, LPM (lpmrestaurants.com/hongkong) reopens on September 5 with a bright new Mediterranean-inspired terrace and stronger visual frontage with a russet awning on busy Stanley Street; a refreshed and light dining room with rich jade upholstery; and a sophisticated semi-private room for events and group dinners.

The bold new look also features bespoke, hand-painted murals for the new terrace and lobby, designed by artist Sanja to “capture the joie de vivre essence of La Petite Maison and vibrant energy of Hong Kong” as well as newly curated artworks from a wide variety of lesser known or emerging French artists.

While quintessential menu favourites like homemade pappardelle with veal ragu and whole grilled sea bass are brought back, new dishes in tune with fresh seasonal produce include seafood specialty Scallop Tartare and Caviar “to evoke a sense of luxury and decadence for the celebratory occasion”, said Head Chef Maurizio Pace.

Specialties of the sea extend to Grilled Langoustines with lemon and tomato, and Pan-fried ‘Saint Pierre’ John Dory with zucchini flower tempura.

Sesame-crusted Lamb Loin with pickled red onion also joins the main course options, exceptionally tender and juicy with excellent marbling for rich, natural flavour. Pasta choices are enhanced by homemade Paccheri Pasta in cherry tomato sauce with burrata, and new vegetarian options include Cauliflower Salad with almond and caraway dressing, and Globe Artichoke with anchovy and lemon vinaigrette.

“Hong Kong is truly a special place, as the best produce can be sourced from all over the world,” added Chef Maurizio.

LPM’s vivacious Riviera-style drinks menu is also enhanced by intriguing new additions including Bergamot Margarita, marrying Ocho Blanco tequila with sweet and spicy Italian liqueur Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, bergamot-infused agave and a dash of mezcal.

Rosette is a new cocktail made from St Germain elderflower liqueur and rosé wine with a touch of grapefruit, and Watermelon Gazpacho is an Instagrammable elixir complementing the one-of-a-kind bouquet of The Botanist gin with the freshness of cucumber, tomato and watermelon, LPM’s signature spice mix and a garnish of basil & burrata foam.

“We did not want to change all the things our guests love us for but wanted to make sure we stay fresh and cutting-edge,” said La Petite Maison CEO Nicolas Budzynski.

“We believe in constant evolution and refreshment to look new again, and hope Hong Kong is as excited as we are with this refresh of what is one of the city’s best-loved French restaurants. We will feel the same, but just look new again!”

He added that La Petite Maison Hong Kong opened nearly six years ago as the only restaurant in the international group’s portfolio that wasn’t originally designed by London interior designer Sagrada (www.sagrada.co.uk).

But the revamp now realigns the venue to global branding “inspired by the glamorous French Riviera and its finest ingredients, signature cocktails, unusual wines and bonhomie in an ambience unmistakably touched by La Belle Époque on the Côte d’Azur.”

Following the September 5 re-opening, La Petite Maison will celebrate with a party on September 21 for the public, with entertainment by French Riviera party band The Troubadours. Guests get to select dishes from the menu, with a minimum spending of HK$1,488 per person (+10% service charge).
