Stelliers Asia Unveils Finalists For The Illustrious 2024 Awards Celebrating The Individuals That Make Hotels Great

The leading awards programme that celebrates hidden heroes and champions of heartfelt hospitality returns to Asia

Stelliers Asia is back and better than ever! After a four-year hiatus, the premier awards ceremony to recognise excellence in the hospitality industry will resume its Grand Awards Ceremony on Friday, 27 September 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. In anticipation of this annual social highlight for all Asian hotelier’s calendars, a total of 89 finalists across 19 categories have been unveiled during a virtual announcement on Friday 7 June 2024.

This year’s Stelliers Asia saw overwhelming nominations from outstanding hoteliers across 12 countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. After a rigorous judging process, 89 finalists were selected in recognition of their remarkable contributions to their teams and hotels, to represent the pinnacle of excellence in their respective fields.

Criteria for the finalists ensure that only the best in class nominees are selected. Applications undergo thorough stringent vetting followed by individual reviews by an esteemed panel of judges. Each judge meticulously assesses submissions

to identify the top candidates in each category. The jury panel then convene to deliberate and finalise the shortlist, guaranteeing a fair and comprehensive evaluation of excellence in the hospitality industry.

Recognition extends across a wide array of 19 categories including food & beverage, chef, sommelier / mixologist, wellness & spa, front office, concierge, engineering, and finance. Additionally, housekeeping, human resources, information technology, hygiene & food safety, marketing & communications, sales, revenue management, and ESG achievements within a green & CSR category are acknowledged. Highly contested senior positions within the General Manager and Hotel Manager / Resident Manager categories are highlighted, while the ‘unsung hero’ category recognises the valuable but often overlooked contributions of staff working behind the scenes, such as doormen, wardrobe, and security staff. Each category celebrates the unique contributions and talents that drive the industry forward.

Introducing a stellar judging panel featuring some of the most respected names in the industry. Simon Kahn, Chief Marketing Officer at Google APAC, brings extensive marketing expertise. Yona He-Poda, Former Senior Vice President at Forbes Travel Guide offers unparalleled luxury hospitality insights. Dr. Jennifer Cronin, former President of Wharf Hotels, lends seasoned leadership and crisis management acumen. James McBride, Co-Founder and CEO of NIHI, is known for innovative and award-winning approaches to hospitality. Lastly, Liam Salter, Founder and CEO of RESET Carbon, provides critical perspectives on sustainability and environmental strategies.
