Following its second opening earlier in Tai Hang this year, everyone’s favourite Italian neighbourhood eatery Ask for Alonzo lands a third location in Happy Valley and has recently opened on Monday 23rd November.

Offering a vast selection of authentic Italian recipes and all-time-signature favourites, the new Happy Valley branch also spreads extra amore to brunch-goers with the very best bites and offers. With a total of sixty seats, the new location of Ask for Alonzo is hailed as the most spacious and comfortable to date. Guests can dine and unwind with friends, family or co-workers in the modern trattoria styled restaurant, enjoying dishes inspired by the Mediterranean provinces of Italy.

Named after the warm-hearted family man Alonzo who loves pasta, Negroni and house music, Ask for Alonzo curates recipes which are inspired by his nostalgic childhood memories, taking diners on a trip down memory lane with the very best Italian creations for a hearty feast.

Nothing beats starting the weekend off with a nice brunch. The Italian comfort cuisine presents many of the much-loved dishes including the delicious and hearty Breakfast Carbonara (HK$148), Breakfast in Tuscany (HK$138), Italian Frittata (HK$148) and Uncle Tony’s Benedict (HK$148). Elevating the most important meal of the day, guests will devour the Breakfast Carbonara spaghetti, topped with Roman guanciale fried egg, black pepper. For those who want to have Breakfast in Tuscany will love the delicious combination of Puttanesca mix, Parma ham, and eggs (fried, poached or scrambled), vibrantly layered on toasted bread. A nod to the true Italian staple, the egg-based Italian Frittata is topped with sausage and asparagus along with irresistible fillings of melted cheese. Another creamy egg-based classic is Uncle Tony’s Benedict, where a mouthwatering combo of baby spinach, applewood smoked bacon, poached eggs and Parmigiano sabayon are served on toasted brioche.

Apart from brunch, guests can also enjoy the soul-satisfying signature dishes such as the Roman Meatballs (HK$98) as a starter, the Rigatoni Amatriciana (HK$138) or Spaghetti Carbonara (HK$138) as a main dish, plus the Alonzo Tiramisu (HK$68/98) for a sweet ending. An enticing starter, the Roman Meatballs, covered with a bed of tomato sauce and parmesan shavings, is served in three pieces. For a taste of pasta heaven, guests can relish the Rigatoni Amatriciana, topped with Roman guanciale, onion and tomato, and the classic Spaghetti Carbonara with Roman guanciale, Italian eggs, sprinkled with a dash of black pepper. To end the meal on a sweet note, guests can indulge in the classic Alonzo Tiramisu, made of espresso-dipped ladyfingers and a whipped mascarpone cream.

Complementing the lipsmacking dishes, guests can pair them with the crowd-favourite cocktails My Grandpa’s Negroni (HK$78) and Aunty Maria’s Aperol Spritz (HK$88), inspired by Alonzo’s family members and the good old days. Guests can say ‘chin chin!’ with My Grandpa’s Negroni, infused with vodka, vermouth, and Campari, and Aunty Maria’s Aperol Spritz, composed of aperol, prosecco, soda, and thyme.
